Members of KPMA took to the state Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 25, to meet with legislative and top government officials.  The morning started with a co-hosted breakfast by KPMA and KGA/KACS, where all 138 legislators were invited. Several members of both associations joined at the Capitol Annex to informally meet with their individual legislators.  More than 35 members and legislators caught up on many different issues and well as future initiatives. After breakfast, Mike Helton and Rachel Phelps, KPMA lobbyists, arranged for the leadership to meet with Patrick Hughes, Chief Deputy Attorney General, and key staff followed up by a meeting with James Comer, Commissioner of Agriculture, and his key staff. Both groups discussed issues such as price gouging; fuel testing and small business regulations such as tax reform, etc. “The goal of these meetings is to continually put KPMA, its members and the industry we represent on the radar of key officials responsible for legislation and regulations impacting our industry,” said Alex Fassas, KPMA Chairman. “I am confident this year’s administration is willing to work with us to ensure our members can continue to do business in Kentucky in the most affordable, profitable and economical way so that we can continue to positively impact Kentucky’s economy and the 75,000 plus individuals we employ.”
